CopyNest collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no CopyNest server — so there is nowhere for your data to go even if we wanted it.
A clipboard manager sees everything you copy: passwords, private messages, client work. That is why this app is built so that none of it can reach us. The rest of this page is the detail behind that sentence.
Your clipboard history — the text, links, images and files you copy — is stored in a database inside CopyNest's own sandboxed container on your Mac. It is never uploaded anywhere by default.
Sync is off unless you enable it. When you do, your clips are written to your private iCloud database, using your own iCloud storage. Apple provides that storage; we have no access to it and no ability to read it. We do not operate a server, and your clips never pass through one of ours.
CopyNest recognises credentials as you copy them — API keys, tokens, private keys, card numbers. When it does, that clip is shown masked, is excluded from iCloud sync, is never given to an AI tool in full, and is excluded from exports. Clipboard items that other apps mark as confidential are not recorded at all.
The optional AI features run on your Mac using Apple Intelligence where your hardware supports it. If you choose to add your own Anthropic API key instead, requests go directly from your Mac to Anthropic under your own account and their terms; we never see the key or the content. AI features are off until you use them, and a detected credential is never sent.
CopyNest can let an AI tool on the same Mac — such as Claude Code — search your clipboard history. That connection is a local socket bound to 127.0.0.1, it requires a token you can regenerate or revoke at any time, and it cannot be reached from another machine. You choose how much history it can see, and detected credentials are masked even from it.
CopyNest writes log messages to the standard macOS logging system on your own Mac, as any app does. Those logs never include the contents of a clip, and they are not transmitted anywhere.
Apple handles the purchase and reports aggregate sales to us — how many copies sold, in which countries. That data comes from Apple, is not linked to you, and is governed by Apple's privacy policy rather than ours.
CopyNest is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever meant CopyNest started collecting something, it would be announced in the app before it took effect — not buried here.
